Southern Fryde Inc is a group of long time friends and brothers from a small town called Sarnia, in South Western Ontario Canada, and they are causing quite the stir around the world.
They are: Andrew Esser: Vocals, Stu Brandon: Vocals, Lead and Rhythm Guitars, Dave (Redbud) Allan: Lead Guitar, Roy Cunningham: Vocals and Keys, Dale Good: Bass, JP Esser: Drums.
They have played in bands with and without each other for 25 years. By the time they were in high school, they were playing the bars, halls and festivals locally. They were jamming Skynyrd, Outlaws, Hatchet, Charlie Daniels, and the Allman Brothers back in 79 and the people loved it.
Being from a border town in the South Western tip of Ontario, they feel a real kinship with southern rockers, outlaw country, and red dirt music. They felt lucky to have good ole USA radio stations that played the southern rock, so they jumped all over it. Just across their river, IS the good ole USA.
Last fall, Dave Allan, Ddroyd, and Stu Brandon started writing their tunes, and it just flowed naturally. 11 songs were written in a couple weeks and they got on the cell and called up a couple old jamming buddies, Dale Good, JP Esser, and Roy Cunningham. "We couldn't have made a better choice, they are machines and came into the studio and laid the tracks down flawlessly (mostly first take)", says Dave. "We love the rawness of it all. We just jammed it out and you can feel what we came up with."
"We have been enjoying this summer, playing lot's of outdoor gigs and the most exciting was opening up for the Kentucky Headhunters at the Boothill Jam. We got to hang out with them, what a bunch of nice guys!", says Dave.
Their latest CD, Deep Fryde, is easy to get hooked on and many fans are relating that they have begun to wear out their CD's already. The positive feedback has been enormous and the guys wish to thank you for all the kind words! As one long time fan said, "It's about time these guys are getting noticed in a huge way, it can't happen to a bunch of nicer guys...they deserve it!" Another quote from a prominent fan: "Congratulations boys, you just made a Southern Rock album that we haven't heard that good since the early '80's!"
The music rocks, it's fresh, they take chances, and it's paying off, not just for them, but for the fans of southern rock, alternative and outlaw country, and yeah, good ole straight ahead rock.
Keep an eye on these guys, they are destined to make their mark.
The guys are very much interested in touring, so agents, connect with them sooner rather than later. You will be glad you did.
